I can't believe that session 01 of the Weight Loss and Wellness Program is almost complete! With 1 week left of the program, I've been mulling over our results. I am so incredibly proud of the group and the changes that we've made. Our group lost weight without calorie counting... We didn't go hungry... And we focused on adding things to our dietary pattern. We put knowledge into action and our results exceeded my expectations!

Our weight loss results from the program ranged from 2 to 22 lbs, with an average weight loss of 7.6 lbs over the first 11 weeks (the program still has 1 week left). These results are incredible! In 12 weeks, we lost more than the typical person loses in 2 years on a commercial program... without a conventional focus on 'dieting'.





There is this false assumption that we need to go to extremes to lose weight. Or that weight loss needs to involve feeling hungry or deprived. In reality, weight loss is about making consistent changes to what we eat over time and celebrating win's along the way.

The 12 week therapeutic weight loss and wellness program here at Lifestyle Medicine Maine leverages positive reinforcement and community to nudge our dietary pattern in the right direction.
